What Starbucks Got Right.
Something small but surprisingly impactful happened this morning. I ran into Starbucks to grab my mobile order. No purse, no phone—just walked in, spotted my name on the egg bites, grabbed the bag, and walked right back out.
On the way to my car, I had this weird realization…No one checked to see if that order was actually mine. I could’ve been anyone. I could’ve taken something I didn’t pay for.
And it made me wonder—do people ever just walk in and take something that doesn’t belong to them?
Probably. But clearly, Starbucks has decided that the reward of convenience is worth the risk of a few losses.
That simple moment got me thinking…
How often in life do we let the fear of risk keep us from the reward we truly want?
We want to start something new. To speak up. Change direction. Say yes. Say no.
But we hesitate, because—what if it doesn’t go how we hope?
Here’s the truth: Life is full of risks.
But when you start building your life based on what you really want—your peace, your purpose, your joy—then you begin to realize that most risks aren’t as risky as they seem.
The bigger risk?
Staying stuck. Shrinking. Settling.
So, maybe today is the day to ask yourself: Is the reward worth the risk?
And if it is, maybe it’s time to go for it. I’ll be over here cheering you on!
