You’re Watering the Wrong Things.

Have you ever had one of these moments?

I have a set of Lego flowers by my kitchen sink.

They're so bright and pretty, and they bring me so much joy.

Yesterday, as I was watering my plants, I paused to water them too.

Don't worry—I caught myself before any actual water was poured. 😉

But it got me thinking: how easy is it to inadvertently water the wrong things?

We pour our time, energy, and hearts into relationships, projects, routines—even thought patterns—sometimes without realizing they were never meant to grow.

The Lego flowers? They’re fake.

They don't need my attention, my care, or my resources.

And it made me pause and reflect: Where else am I accidentally watering things that aren’t even real or life-giving?

  • Maybe it's a friendship that constantly drains you.

  • A business offer that no longer lights you up.

  • A commitment you said yes to out of guilt, not alignment.

  • A habit that quietly pulls you away from the life you crave.

The more we water these things—out of obligation, fear, or habit—the more they drain the energy we need for what truly matters.

Your energy is precious.
Your attention is powerful.
And what you nurture will grow.

Today, I invite you to pause and ask yourself:

  • What am I watering in my life right now?

  • Is this relationship, habit, or project life-giving—or life-draining?

  • What would it look like to redirect my energy toward something truly meant for me?

Because when you start intentionally watering what aligns with your future—your life, leadership, and impact will bloom beyond anything you’ve imagined.

You don't have to keep watering what was never meant to grow.
